Foot Print Cafe: A Social Enterprise for the World

Foot Print Cafe is the first in what hopes to be a global chain of social enterprise cafes linking tourism to empowered local communities. The cafe is entirely locally run and headed by Manager Pheakdey Yon. The cafe is a calm, relaxing space with hundreds of books for customers to browse or buy.

The cafe also works to support education and entrepreneurship in the region by donating 100% of its net profits as community grants. These grants are decided by a local committee and aim to help local people pursue their dreams and aspirations.

Menu

The cafe offers both authentic local dishes and international favorites, including many vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. All the food is made with the freshest local ingredients bought by the kitchen team every morning. Some of the popular items on the menu are:

• Vegan Muesli Smoothie: A creamy and fruity smoothie with oats, banana, mango, coconut milk, and chia seeds.

• Sweet Sour Fish: A tangy and spicy dish with crispy fried fish, pineapple, tomato, onion, and bell pepper.

• Grilled Fish in Capers Creamy Sauce: A succulent and savory dish with grilled fish, mashed potato, broccoli, and a rich sauce with capers, cream, and white wine.

• Vegan Burger: A hearty and satisfying burger with a homemade patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, vegan cheese, and vegan mayo, served with sweet potato tater tots.

The cafe also has one of the best coffee roasts in town with the friendliest baristas. You can choose from a variety of hot and cold drinks, such as espresso, latte, cappuccino, mocha, iced coffee, tea, juice, and smoothies.

The cafe is very affordable and offers great value for money. The average price for a meal is around $3, and the average price for a drink is around $2. You can also enjoy a 10% discount if you buy a book from the cafe or show your student ID.
