Angkor Hot air Balloon: A Breathtaking and Eco-Friendly Experience in Siem Reap

Updated: Mar 3, 2024

The Angkor Hot air Balloon is a wildlife-friendly and eco-friendly attraction that offers visitors a chance to see the Angkor Archaeological Park from a different perspective, and to experience the beauty and diversity of Cambodia's natural environment. The balloon is filled with helium, a non-flammable and non-polluting gas, and can carry up to 4 passengers in a spacious and comfortable basket. The balloon flies for about 30 minutes, depending on the wind and weather conditions, and covers a distance of about 10 km. The balloon operates from sunrise to sunset, every day of the year, weather permitting.

The Angkor Hot air Balloon was launched in 2018 by Cambodia Flight Holiday, a local company that specializes in innovative and eco-friendly tourism. The balloon is located inside the Angkor Archaeological Park, which means you need to buy a temple pass to enjoy this attraction. However, the location also allows you to see the most famous temples, such as Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm, and Banteay Srei, as well as the surrounding countryside, Siem Reap town, Tonle Sap Lake, and Phnom Kulen.
